Cartridge & game box storage
Storing cartridges protects two things: the labels, which get dog-eared at the bottom of a drawer, and the connectors, which oxidise in the open air. This page brings together clear cases in the Japanese format, a hard case for Game Boy Color and Advance, a storage box, PET box protectors and save batteries.

Questions fréquentes
How do you know which PET protector size to order?
Measure the box before ordering: the pack of ten at €18.99 comes in eleven sizes, because an 8-bit console box, a handheld game case and a disc box do not have the same dimensions. A protector that is too big does not hold the box in place and lets it slide around.
Do you need to solder to change a cartridge battery?
On the vast majority of cartridges, yes: the CR1616, CR1620 or CR1632 battery is soldered to the board. Soldering directly onto the body of a coin cell is risky. The clean method is to use a battery with solder tabs, or to solder in a holder that makes every later replacement immediate.
Do JP-format cases fit European games?
The clear case described as JP format is sized for the original Japanese cases, which are more compact. A Game Boy or Game Boy Color cartridge fits without any problem, since the cartridge format is identical. A European cardboard box, on the other hand, is noticeably wider and will not fit.
