Description complète
Transparent Game Boy Color case: keep the cartridge safe from dust
A Game Boy Color cartridge left lying at the bottom of a drawer collects dust on its gold contacts and gets its label scratched. This transparent plastic case encloses it, keeps it identifiable without opening and prevents cartridges stored together from rubbing against each other.
What it does
- Protects the label: the rigid shell absorbs the rubbing and light knocks that peel or scratch the original sticker.
- Shields the contacts: with the case closed, the gold pins no longer pick up drawer dust or fingerprints.
- Easy-to-read storage: the transparent plastic shows the game, so you find a title without opening every case.
What it doesn't do
- Does not replace the original cardboard box and manual: it is storage protection, not a collector's item.
- Does not rescue an already oxidised cartridge: clean the contacts with isopropyl alcohol before storing it.
- Does not extend the life of the save battery: a save that gets erased is caused by the cartridge's internal battery, not by storage.
- Designed for the Game Boy Color cartridge format. Whether original Game Boy (DMG) cartridges, which are taller, fit has not been confirmed by the manufacturer.
Compatibility
Cartridges in Game Boy Color format. Game Boy Advance cartridges, which are shorter and thinner, do not stay in this slot. The case does not plug into any console: it is for storage only.
Skill level required
None. No tools, no disassembly: open the case, slide in the cartridge, close it. Handle the cartridge by its sides so as not to leave marks on the contacts.
In the box
- 1 transparent protective case for a Game Boy Color cartridge
- Supplied without games, in compliance with the law. The exact quantity per lot is still to be confirmed with the manufacturer.

The cartridge drawer
Game Boy Color cartridges have spent twenty-five years loose in shoeboxes and desk drawers. The result: labels worn away by rubbing, scratched shells and grey dust on the gold contacts. As for the original cardboard boxes, almost all of them have disappeared. This transparent case gives each cartridge a clean home again, without trying to imitate a collector's box.
What it changes in practice
Once the cartridge is closed in, it no longer rubs against its neighbours and no longer picks up dust on its pins. The transparent plastic lets you read the game title: you find a cartridge at a glance instead of opening ten cases. Your games can then be stored upright, in a row, like a real collection rather than a bag of spare parts.
The limits, stated before you buy
It is a storage case, nothing more. It does not restore an already oxidised cartridge: clean the contacts with isopropyl alcohol before shutting it away. It does not stop a save battery from dying, and it has no collector's value compared with an original cardboard box. Finally, it is cut for the Game Boy Color format: Game Boy Advance cartridges do not stay in it.

Frequently Asked Questions
🧩 Which cartridges fit in this case?
The slot is designed for the Game Boy Color cartridge format. Game Boy Advance cartridges, which are shorter and thinner, do not stay in place. For original Game Boy (DMG) cartridges, which are taller, compatibility has not been confirmed by the manufacturer.
🎮 Does it come with a game?
No. The case is sold empty: supplied without games, in compliance with the law.
🧽 Should I clean the cartridge before storing it?
It is recommended. Wipe the gold contacts with a cotton bud lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol, then let it dry completely before closing: shutting away a damp or already oxidised cartridge does not help.
📦 What's in the box?
1 transparent protective case, without a game. The exact quantity per lot is still to be confirmed with the manufacturer.
🔍 Can I read the label without opening the case?
Yes, that is the point of the transparent plastic: the game title stays visible, so you can find a cartridge without opening the whole stack.
🔌 Can I play with the cartridge inside the case?
No. The case does not plug into any console: you need to take the cartridge out to insert it into the machine.
🚚 What are the delivery times?
Delivery in 10 to 18 days, ships within 3 to 5 days.
🛡️ Which guarantee applies?
2-year legal guarantee of conformity. 14-day returns.
