Cartridge case: your Game Boy games stored safe from dust
A Game Boy cartridge lying around in a drawer gathers dust, gets scratched and ends up making poor contact. This clear hard case holds one cartridge and closes a dust-proof shell around it. Two formats to choose from depending on your games: Game Boy / Game Boy Color cartridges or Game Boy Advance cartridges, which are not the same size.
What it does
- Protects the contacts: the cartridge is enclosed, so dust no longer reaches the gold contacts or the label.
- Prevents scratches: no more rubbing between cartridges in a box or a bag.
- Stays readable: the clear plastic shows the label, so you can find a game without opening the cases one by one.
What it doesn't do
- It is not an electronic part: the case doesn't repair a cartridge that no longer boots, doesn't clean oxidised contacts and doesn't replace a dead save battery.
- One case holds a single cartridge, and one format at a time: a case designed for Game Boy Advance won't close properly on a Game Boy Color cartridge, which is thicker.
- It is not shock protection: the rigid plastic handles rubbing, not a fall onto tiles.

Compatibility
Game Boy / Game Boy Color / Game Boy Pocket variant: cartridges in the classic Game Boy format (thick shell with a notch). Game Boy Advance variant: GBA cartridges, thinner and shorter. Not suitable for Nintendo DS, 3DS or Switch cartridges, or for the cards of modern Chinese handheld consoles, whose formats are completely different.

The cartridge lying around in a drawer
Game Boy cartridges are thirty years old and have almost never had a box. They travel loose, in a bag or a shoebox, and rub against each other. The result: worn labels, scratched shells, dust on the gold contacts. This case gives each game the container it never had, and it doesn't cost the price of a display cabinet.
Two formats, because the cartridges aren't the same size
A Game Boy Advance cartridge is noticeably thinner and shorter than a Game Boy or Game Boy Color cartridge. A single case claiming to hold both would hold one badly and strain against the other. So there are two separate variants here: choose the one that matches your games, not your console model — a Game Boy Advance reads both formats.
What a case won't do for you
We'll say it before you buy: this case protects, it doesn't restore. A cartridge with oxidised contacts will need cleaning with isopropyl alcohol, and a save that keeps erasing calls for a CR2025 battery replacement and a soldering iron.
