HDMI adapter for PSP-2000 and PSP-3000: the handheld on the big screen
The PSP-2000 and PSP-3000 have a video output next to the headphone socket, originally intended for component cables. This adapter plugs into that output and sends the image to an HDMI input, with a stated 1080p output.
What it does
- HDMI output: the PSP is displayed on a recent TV or monitor.
- Direct connection: the adapter connects to the console's video port.
- Full-screen menus and videos: the console's interface fills the whole display.
What it doesn't do
- In game, the image does not fill the screen: the PSP sends its games at their native resolution, in the centre of a black frame. This is a limitation of the console, not of the adapter.
- It does not work on the PSP-1000 or the PSP-E1000, which have no video output, nor on the PSP Go, whose connector is different.
- It does not add detail: the PSP's 480 × 272 pixel screen remains the source.
Compatibility

The job: taking the PSP out of your pocket
