Description complète
PCB soldering holder: the board stays still, both hands stay free
Resoldering a charging port, replacing a capacitor or fitting a screen ribbon cable on a handheld console requires a board that is perfectly still. This workshop platform holds the circuit board with magnetic pins that you place wherever you like, with no clamps or adhesive tape. The rubber feet stop the whole thing from sliding on the workbench.
What it does
- Repositionable magnetic hold: the pins sit freely on the platform and can be moved in a second when the board changes orientation.
- Universal format: the holder is not tied to a specific console, it holds any board laid flat, from a controller PCB to a home console motherboard.
- Stable work surface: rubber feet under the platform, so the board stays at soldering-iron height without being held by hand.
What it doesn't do
- This is not an articulated "helping hands" arm: no crocodile clips, no magnifier, no iron stand.
- This is not a heating station or a preheater: the platform does not heat up and should not be used as a surface for prolonged hot air desoldering.
- Watch out for the variants: the "1pc" (one colour) and "4pcs Pins" options are pins sold on their own, without the platform. Only "Only Board" (platform only) and "Board With 4 Pins" (platform + 4 pins) include the platform.
- The exact dimensions of the platform and the holding force are not provided by the manufacturer.
Compatibility
Generic workshop tool: it suits any electronic board laid flat — retro handheld console boards, controller boards, home console motherboards, laptop boards. It is not tied to any particular console and provides no electrical compatibility: it simply holds the board. It is not suitable for assemblies already fitted in their shell or for very large boards that would overhang the platform.
Skill level required
No assembly: you place the platform on the workbench, position the pins around the board and solder. The tool is aimed at people who already solder — it makes the job easier, it doesn't teach it. You will need a fine-tip iron, desoldering braid and a screwdriver suited to your console; the electronics work is up to you.
In the box
- "1pc" variant (dark grey, grey, blue or yellow): 1 magnetic pin on its own.
- "4pcs Pins" variant: 4 magnetic pins, without platform.
- "Only Board" variant: 1 soldering platform on its own, without pins.
- "Board With 4 Pins" variant: 1 soldering platform + 4 magnetic pins.

The job: a board that no longer moves
On a retro handheld console, a repair often comes down to three millimetres: a torn-off charging port, a tired capacitor, a screen ribbon cable to redo. Holding the board in one hand and the iron in the other is a sure way to botch a solder joint. This platform locks the circuit in place with its magnetic pins and gives the repairer both hands back. The board stays where you put it, even when you turn it over to work on the other side.
The part: a platform, some pins, nothing more
The principle is deliberately simple: a platform with rubber feet and magnetised pins that you position freely according to the shape of the board. No screws, no jig, no adjustment to redo for every job. The pins are also sold individually or in fours, so you can complete a platform you already have rather than buying a new one. It is a workbench consumable, not a device.
What you need to know before ordering
This holder won't do the work for you: it is aimed at people who can already solder and want to stop juggling. It does not heat up, does not hold the iron, and offers neither a magnifier nor lighting. Above all, check the variant you choose: four options contain only pins, without the platform. The precise dimensions of the platform are not published by the manufacturer, and we would rather say so than make them up.

Frequently Asked Questions
🔧 Do I need to solder or assemble anything to use it?
No. The platform sits on the workbench and the pins are placed by hand around the board. The tool is for soldering, it requires no soldering itself.
🎮 Which boards is it compatible with?
Any electronic board laid flat: retro handheld consoles, controllers, home console motherboards. It is not an accessory tied to a specific console.
🧲 Could the magnetic hold damage the board?
The pins grip the board by its edges and do not touch the components. Still, keep the magnets away from save media and memory cards.
📦 What exactly is in the box?
It depends on the variant: "1pc" = a single pin, "4pcs Pins" = four pins, "Only Board" = the platform only, "Board With 4 Pins" = platform + four pins.
🧰 What other tools do I need?
A fine-tip soldering iron, solder, desoldering braid and a screwdriver suited to your console. The holder does not replace any of these tools.
🔥 Can it be used with a hot air gun?
The platform is not stated to withstand prolonged heat. For hot air desoldering, use a work mat designed for that purpose instead.
🚚 What are the delivery times?
Delivery in 10 to 18 days, ships within 3 to 5 days.
🛡️ Which guarantee applies?
2-year legal guarantee of conformity. 14-day returns. French customer service, reply within 1 business day.
