Description complète
Hall effect joystick for the Odin 2: an end to the drifting stick
After a few hundred hours, a potentiometer stick eventually starts to drift: the character walks on its own, the cursor slides. This spare part replaces the module with a Hall effect joystick, with no mechanical contact, on the Odin 2, Odin 2 Mini and Odin 2 Portal handheld consoles. The caps can also be ordered on their own, when only the rubberised surface is worn.
What it does
- Replaces a worn stick: the module is a complete joystick, designed as a spare part for the Odin 2.
- Hall effect technology: the position is read magnetically, with no carbon track that wears out — the usual cause of drift disappears.
- Caps sold separately: in packs of 2 or 4, to get the grip back without opening the console if the module still works.
What it doesn't do
- This is not an upgrade to how the controls feel: it is a spare part. Do not count on it to transform the original travel or precision.
- The cap variants (2 MZ, 4 MZ) contain no module: they will not repair a stick that drifts.
- Drift caused by the motherboard, a torn-off connector or badly calibrated firmware is not solved by changing the stick.
- A part intended for the Odin 2: we do not guarantee the fit on any other handheld console.
- No disassembly instructions are supplied with the part.
Compatibility
Odin 2, Odin 2 Mini and Odin 2 Portal. The module is a replacement joystick dedicated to those three machines; it is not intended for Anbernic, Retroid or Powkiddy consoles, nor for home controllers. The caps fit the sticks of the same models. If you are unsure about your revision, open the console and compare the module before ordering.
Skill level required
Replacing the module means opening the console's shell and working on the board: this is a job for a confident tinkerer, not an everyday gesture. Plan for a precision Phillips screwdriver, a plastic opening pick and a clear work surface. We do not claim the job can be done without a soldering iron: the method depends on your console's revision, so check it before ordering. Changing the cap, on the other hand, is done by hand with the console closed.

The day the console starts playing by itself
A handheld running every evening always ends up with the same symptom: the menu scrolls without anyone touching anything, the character heads off to the left. On conventional sticks, a carbon track rubs under your finger, season after season, until it sends back wrong values. It is not a software bug, it is mechanical wear. And it can be replaced.
Why a Hall effect module
A Hall effect joystick reads the position not by friction but through a magnetic field: nothing touches any more, so nothing wears out at that spot. That is why an original stick is replaced with a module of this type rather than with a part identical to the one that has just failed. The module offered here is made for the Odin 2, Mini and Portal.
What we tell you before you buy
This is not a part you clip on from the outside: you have to open the console and work on the board, and the method depends on your revision. If your stick responds correctly and only the rubberised surface has gone shiny, take the caps on their own: that is two minutes, with the console closed, and it costs three times less. Frequently Asked Questions
🎮 Which consoles does this part fit?
The Odin 2, Odin 2 Mini and Odin 2 Portal. It is intended neither for Anbernic, Retroid or Powkiddy consoles, nor for home controllers.
🕹️ What is the difference between the YG and MZ variants?
The 2 YG variants contain 2 complete joystick modules. The 2 MZ and 4 MZ variants contain only caps, 2 and 4 respectively.
🌀 Does it fix drift?
A Hall effect module removes the most common cause of drift, the wear of the carbon track. If the fault comes from the motherboard or a damaged connector, changing the stick will change nothing.
🔧 Do you have to solder to change the module?
We do not claim so: the method depends on your console's revision. Check how your model comes apart before ordering. Changing the cap, on the other hand, is done by hand.
🧰 Which tools do I need?
A precision Phillips screwdriver and a plastic opening pick for the module. Nothing at all for the caps. No tool is supplied in the box.
⏱️ How long does the job take?
Allow a few minutes for a cap. For the module, opening the console and replacing it call for care: set aside an hour and a clear work surface.
🚚 What are the delivery times?
Delivery in 10 to 18 days, ships within 3 to 5 days.
🛡️ What guarantee applies?
2-year legal guarantee of conformity. 14-day returns. Reply within 1 business day.
