Six macro buttons, nothing to install
The G50S offers six programmable buttons, M1 to M6, where most controllers in this price range give you two. They are recorded directly on the controller: hold MODE and the M button for three seconds, play the sequence, confirm. No app to download, no account to create, and the configuration stays with the controller when you plug it into a Switch or a phone. The sticks and triggers use contactless Hall-effect sensors, so no drift caused by wear.
The 1,000 Hz applies to the cable only
The spec sheet says 1,000 Hz, but Thunderobot notes in the small print that this figure applies over USB only: on 2.4 GHz as well as Bluetooth, the polling rate drops back to 160 Hz. Gamepadla's independent measurements point the same way: around 6.8 ms of latency wired, 11.9 ms with the 2.4 GHz receiver and 14.3 ms over Bluetooth. Nothing disqualifying for solo or platform games. For competitive shooters, plug in the cable.
What it isn't
This is not a 1,000 Hz wireless controller: wireless drops to a stated 160 Hz. This is not a long-battery-life controller: 600 mAh and around ten hours stated by Thunderobot, not fifteen. There is no charging dock, no 3.5 mm headphone jack, and the ABXY buttons still use conductive rubber rather than mechanical switches. Finally, neither Xbox nor PlayStation is supported: the G50S targets PC, Switch, Android and iOS.

Why this controller is in our catalogue
We check every controller before listing it. Many never make it in.
Every controller is checked before it enters the catalogue: the platforms it really works on, the technology of its sticks, what it does not do. Many models never make it in, because they do not live up to what they announce. What this one can do, and where it stops, is detailed further down this page.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many programmable buttons are there and how do you set them?
Six, named M1 to M6. They are recorded directly on the controller by holding MODE and the M button for three seconds. No app is required.
Does the 1,000 Hz apply wirelessly?
No. Thunderobot states 1,000 Hz over USB and 160 Hz on 2.4 GHz as well as Bluetooth. Gamepadla's measurements record around 6.8 ms of latency wired versus 14.3 ms over Bluetooth.
What is the real battery life?
The battery is 600 mAh. Thunderobot states around 10 hours depending on the game, with a full charge in 3 hours or less. Some retailer listings mention 15 hours: the manufacturer says 10.
Does the gyro work on Switch?
Yes. The G50S has a native 6-axis gyro, recognized directly by the console for motion aiming. It also handles waking the Switch.
Can the stick dead zone be removed?
Yes. The G50S lets you set the dead zone down to zero and switch between a square gate and a circular gate, depending on whether you are playing a shooter or a racing game.
Does it work on Xbox or PlayStation?
No. The supported platforms are Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS (MFi games).
