Hall effect everywhere and mechanical switches
The G5 Pro combines two things you rarely find together at this price. On one side, Hall-effect sensors on the sticks and on the triggers: nothing rubs, so nothing drifts over time, and the triggers keep a full analog travel. On the other, mechanical switches under the ABXY buttons and under the D-pad, which click sharply and come back fast. Add two rear paddles able to record up to 32 actions and a 6-axis gyro.
Its real polling rate
Machenike does not publish a polling rate for the G5 Pro, and it is a figure that matters. The Gamepadla lab, which bench-tests controllers, records around 500 Hz over USB, 160 to 250 Hz with the 2.4 GHz receiver and 66 to 80 Hz over Bluetooth. For comparison, a controller stated at 1,000 Hz holds that figure when wired. For solo, adventure or platform games, the difference does not show. For competitive FPS, plug in the cable and avoid Bluetooth.
What it isn't
This is not an esports controller: its polling rate stays below the 1,000 Hz claimed by the competition. This is not a long-battery-life controller: 600 mAh, that is 5 to 8 hours stated by Machenike. It does not ship with a charging dock, unlike the G5 Pro Max. It has no 3.5 mm headphone jack. It works on neither Xbox nor PlayStation. Finally, the Key Linker app is designed for mobile and its translation could be better.

Why this controller is in our catalogue
We check every controller before listing it. Many never make it in.
Every controller is checked before it enters the catalogue: the platforms it really works on, the technology of its sticks, what it does not do. Many models never make it in, because they do not live up to what they announce. What this one can do, and where it stops, is detailed further down this page.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the real polling rate?
Machenike does not state it. Bench measurements from Gamepadla give around 500 Hz wired, 160 to 250 Hz with the 2.4 GHz dongle and 66 to 80 Hz over Bluetooth. For maximum responsiveness, stay on USB-C.
What is the difference with the G5 Pro Max?
The G5 Pro Max ships with a charging dock and reaches 1,000 Hz wired according to Gamepadla. The rest — Hall sticks, Hall triggers, gyro, two paddles — is identical.
How long does the battery last?
The battery is 600 mAh. Machenike states 5 to 8 hours depending on vibration and lighting. A full charge takes 2 to 4 hours over USB-C.
Does it work on Xbox or PlayStation?
No. Machenike states Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS. Microsoft and Sony consoles are not supported.
Is the front faceplate really removable?
Yes. It is held by magnets and comes off by hand, with no tools and no screws. That lets you change the look of the controller.
Is there PC software?
The official app is Key Linker, available on Android and iOS. Everyday settings — vibration, lighting, Turbo, macros — remain accessible through button combinations on the controller.
