The dock solves the charging problem
The EM901X ships with a magnetic USB-C charging dock. You drop the mouse on it at the end of the day and it recharges without you thinking about it. That is the real point of this model: the battery question goes away. The battery is 930 mAh, the largest capacity among the gaming mice in this catalog. And unlike the Rapoo MT760M, the USB-C port also works in wired gaming mode: if the mouse is flat, you plug the cable in and carry on.
An in-house sensor at 300 IPS, and RGB that costs battery life
The sensor is an AIM-WL developed by DAREU: up to 12 000 DPI, 300 IPS and 35 G. The default steps are 400, 800, 1600, 3200 and 6400. Those 300 IPS place it below the PAW3395 rated at 650 IPS. On battery life, DAREU states around 10 to 16 days at four hours a day with the lighting off, against 3 to 5 days with the lighting on: RGB divides battery life by three. The switches are stated at 50 million clicks.
Who it's not for
To those who want Bluetooth: there is none, only the 2,4 GHz dongle and the cable. To players after low weight: 85 g is 28 g more than a Darmoshark N5. To those with a crowded desk: the dock takes up a fixed spot and a USB port. To left-handers: the shell is right-handed. To Mac users who want macros: the driver is Windows software. And to those who play at low sensitivity with big swipes: 300 IPS can lose tracking.

Why this mouse is in our catalogue
We check every mouse before listing it. Many never make it in.
Every mouse is checked before it enters the catalogue: the sensor actually fitted, the weight on the scales, the shape and the grips it supports, what it does not do. Many models never make it in, because they do not live up to what they announce. What this one can do, and where it stops, is detailed further down this page.

What this mouse can do

Frequently Asked Questions
How many programmable buttons exactly?
DAREU's spec sheet lists 6 programmable buttons, while the brand's marketing sometimes says 7. The gap comes from the DPI switch button, counted or not depending on the page.
What is the real battery life?
DAREU states 10 to 16 days with the lighting off and 3 to 5 days with the lighting on, based on four hours a day. In other words: RGB divides battery life by three. The battery is 930 mAh.
Can you play while charging?
Yes. The supplied USB-C cable works in wired mode, not only for charging. If the battery is flat, you plug in and keep playing.
Is there Bluetooth?
No. The EM901X only offers the 2,4 GHz dongle and the USB-C cable. For a three-mode mouse with Bluetooth, look at the Darmoshark range.
What is the maximum DPI?
DAREU states 12 000 DPI for the AIM-WL sensor, with default steps at 400, 800, 1600, 3200 and 6400. Some retailer listings still mention 6000 DPI: that is the value of an earlier revision.
Is the dock compulsory?
No. It acts as a magnetic charging base and as a holder for the 2,4 GHz dongle, but the mouse also charges directly through its USB-C port.

It is a fair question. Here is the answer, straight.
