RG35XX screen: a new IPS panel for the original console
The first-generation Anbernic RG35XX does not cope well with drops, and it is almost always the screen that breaks. This 3.5-inch IPS panel at 640 × 480 replaces it. Three versions: the panel alone, the panel with a new black glass, or the panel with a mini HDMI board for an external screen project.
What it does
- 640 × 480 IPS panel: the resolution and format of the original screen.
- Optional black glass: to replace a scratched or broken glass at the same time.
- Optional mini HDMI board: turns the panel into a small HDMI monitor for an electronics project.
What it does not do
- The mini HDMI board is not used by the console: it lets you use the panel on its own as an external screen.
- Original RG35XX only: not suitable for the RG35XX Plus, H, SP or Pro.
- The "Screen only" version comes without glass.
- No tools included.
Compatibility
Anbernic RG35XX (original model, 3.5-inch 640 × 480 screen).
Skill level
Intermediate: open the console, disconnect the battery, peel off the old panel and plug in the ribbon, no soldering. You will need a small Phillips screwdriver, a plastic spudger and thin double-sided adhesive.

The job: replace the screen, not the console
An RG35XX with a cracked screen often works perfectly otherwise. Open the console, disconnect the battery, replace the panel, and take the chance to change the glass if it is scratched.
