Wet sandpaper: erase thirty years of scratches from a shell

A scratched console shell can be saved, as long as you work through the grits progressively. You tackle the scratch with a medium grit, then move up to very fine before polishing. This wet and dry paper comes in 29 grits, from 60 to 20000 — you choose the one you need.

What it does

• Used with water: wet sanding prevents the plastic from heating up and clogs the paper less.
• 29 grits available: from 60 for rough work to 20000 to prepare for polishing.
• Flexible backing: follows the curves of a console shell.

What it doesn't do

• It's not a multi-grit kit. Each item contains 2 sheets of a single grit: for a full restoration, you need to order several grits.
• Sanding alone doesn't restore the shine: you have to finish with polish, otherwise the surface stays matte.
• On yellowed plastic, sanding doesn't remove the yellowing, which runs through the material.
