USB-C power board for Saturn: a USB-C charger instead of the mains
On a Saturn, the original power supply is an internal board wired straight to the mains, and it has aged along with the console. This Auroxin USB-C power board takes its place: the console is then powered by a USB-C Power Delivery charger at 12 V / 3 A, with no mains cable.
What it does
- Replaces the original power board: it fits inside the Saturn, in place of the old one.
- USB-C Power Delivery input: the console plugs into a USB-C charger that delivers 12 V at 3 A.
- No more dedicated mains cable: an ordinary USB-C charger will do, as long as it offers 12 V.
- Japanese or US console without a step-down transformer: the USB-C charger is what plugs into the wall socket; with a 100-240 V charger, the mains voltage no longer matters.
What it does not do
- The USB-C charger is not included, nor is the USB-C cable.
- A charger that does not offer 12 V over Power Delivery will not work: many phone chargers stop at 5 V and 9 V.
- It does not fix a fault located anywhere other than the power supply (motherboard, CD drive).
- It is not an external power brick: you need to open the console to install it.

The job: a new power supply in a thirty-year-old console
The Saturn's original power board is wired straight to the mains, and its components have aged along with the console. You open the console, remove the old board and install the USB-C board in its place. Once closed again, the Saturn plugs into a USB-C charger, just like a laptop.
