Neon: the electric blue of the fastest duelist
Neon is Filipina, a duelist, and the only Valorant agent who crosses a site sprinting before ending the run in a slide. Her whole identity sits in the electric blue and cyan of the current she leaves behind her. The set's illustration takes up that world as fan art, with no connection to the game's publisher. The palette is light and cold: it suits a white keyboard, it extends a blue backlight instead of fighting it, and it clashes with a very warm desk of wood or orange tones. The audience is clear: the player who opens the round and looks for the first duel, not the one counting seconds.
A light set: material and printing count twice over
A light palette shows everything: dust, marks, shine. That is exactly where the choice of material weighs in. PBT, or polybutylene terephthalate, is harder and rougher than the ABS of stock keycaps, which polishes under your fingers and turns shiny on W, A, S, D and the spacebar; PBT keeps its matte surface longer. The printing is dye-sublimation: heated, the ink turns to gas and diffuses into the plastic instead of sitting on top, so the design does not chip and does not wear off with friction. Two limits come with it: sublimation only goes from light to dark, and the diffused ink blocks light.
Neon: what this set does not replace
The name suggests light, but this set produces none: dye-sublimated legends do not let the backlight through, which stays visible around the keys only. It is not a keyboard, nor a complete set of keys: fourteen keycaps announced on a board that carries well over a hundred, the rest keeping their original caps, whose colour and texture will differ. It is not compatible everywhere: an MX cross-stem is required, so no membrane, low-profile or laptop keyboards, and the spacebar will not sit on Costar stabilisers. It is not a licensed product: fan art inspired by the Valorant universe, made by a third-party manufacturer. No keycap puller is included.

Those whose switches use an MX cross-stem: Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh, Outemu and most clones. Left out are membrane keyboards, low-profile boards and laptop keyboards. The spacebar needs clip-in MX stabilisers; Costar ones will not do. Unclip one key from your keyboard: the answer is right there.
How many keycaps, and which ones?
The manufacturer states 14 keycaps across five sizes: 1U, Caps Lock 1.75U, Backspace 2U, Enter 2.25U and a 6.25U spacebar, widths taken from an ANSI layout. The detail of the legends, however, is not published: the product photos are what counts. No keycap puller comes with the set.
Which keyboard suits this blue best?
A white or light grey chassis, where Neon's cyan continues the tone of the neighbouring keys instead of cutting across it. On a black keyboard the effect reverses: fourteen caps that pop out of the rest, which may be exactly what you want.
Do the legends light up on a backlit keyboard?
No. Dye-sublimation dyes the plastic through and creates no translucent window: the designs do not let LED light through. The backlight stays visible around the keys, never through them, whatever colour you choose.
Do light keycaps get dirty faster?
A light palette shows dust more than a dark one; that is simply a matter of colour. The matte grain of PBT, on the other hand, does not bounce light back like a polished surface: it does not take on the greasy shine that stock ABS ends up showing.
