The Nordic sentinel and her nanowires
Deadlock is not looking for a duel: she closes a corridor, sets her sensors and waits for someone to make the mistake of walking in. Her palette matches her, cool and clean — icy white, steel grey, matte black, and the cyan of the drawn nanowires running from key to key. These are tones that naturally belong on a white or light grey keyboard, where the fourteen keys blend in rather than cut across; on a black keyboard the contrast turns sharp and the cyan jumps out. It is a sentinel's set, for the player who holds a site alone and counts the footsteps. The Deadlock artwork is an original design inspired by the Valorant universe, with no connection to the game's publisher.
A matte grain, five sizes, one fitting
The first thing you notice about this set is the surface: PBT is harder and rougher than the ABS of the original keys, it grips the finger instead of sliding, and it does not polish smooth after a few months the way ABS does on W, A, S, D and the space bar. The manufacturer states 14 keys and publishes five sizes: 1U (1.8 × 1.8 cm), Caps Lock 1.75U (3.15 cm wide), Backspace 2U (3.6 cm), Enter 2.25U (4.05 cm) and space bar 6.25U (11.25 cm), i.e. an ANSI layout. The 1U keys go wherever you like, the WASD block and Esc first. The manufacturer does not publish the list of legends, though: the product photos are what counts.
What this set does not lock down
This is not a keyboard, nor a complete key set: fourteen keycaps on a keyboard that has more than a hundred, the rest keeps its original keys, and neither the shade nor the grain will be identical — on a light palette, a white that is not quite the same white gets noticed fast. It is not compatible with every keyboard: you need an MX cross-stem, so no membrane, no low profile, no laptop keyboard, and the space bar will not mount on Costar stabilisers. It is not a backlit set: dye-sublimated legends do not let LED light through. It is not a licensed product: fan art inspired by the Valorant universe, published by a third-party manufacturer. No puller is included.
