Description complète
Precision tweezers: grab a ribbon cable without tearing it
Opening a retro handheld means handling ribbon cables just a few millimetres wide, tiny screws and components you can lose in a second. These tweezers have a fine tip and an anti-magnetic body: they grip without magnetising the screws and without crushing the connector. Two profiles to choose from, straight or curved.
What it does
- Fine tip: picks up a ZIF ribbon cable, a button spring, a screw that has fallen into the shell.
- Anti-magnetic body: screws do not stick to the tip, they stay where you put them.
- Two profiles: straight tip for flat work, curved tip to reach under a shield or behind a connector.
- Controlled grip: the flexible body lets you feel the pressure, useful on plastic film or enamelled wire.
What it doesn't do
- They are not certified anti-static (ESD): anti-magnetic does not mean dissipative. On a motherboard, keep wearing a grounding wrist strap.
- The material stated by the supplier is contradictory — "titanium alloy" on one side, "nickel-chromium alloy steel" on the other. We do not settle the question: the exact composition remains to be confirmed.
- This is not a lever: a fine tip bends if you use it to pry off a shell or a battery. Use a spudger.
- A single pair of tweezers is supplied, not a set of several profiles.
- Neither length, weight nor hardness is documented by the supplier: we do not state them.
Compatibility
This is a tool, not a part: it does not get installed on anything. It is useful on anything that opens — retro handheld consoles (Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Color, DS), modern Chinese handhelds (Anbernic, Miyoo, TrimUI, Retroid), controllers, phone motherboards, mechanical keyboards. It does not replace a tri-wing screwdriver or an opening spudger: those two remain essential to get inside.
Skill level required
None. The tweezers can be used from your very first teardown. They really come into their own as soon as you work on a screen ribbon cable, a button replacement or soldering: in that case, also have a screwdriver suited to the console, a spudger and a sorting mat for the screws.
In the box
- 1 pair of precision tweezers, in the chosen tip profile (straight or curved).

Hands-on: the screw you can never find again
Taking apart a retro handheld comes down to three or four tiny moves: pulling the screen ribbon cable out of its connector, putting a trigger spring back, placing a 1.5 mm screw at the bottom of a shell. With your fingers, you crush or you lose. The tweezers make these moves possible with one hand, without forcing the part. It is the tool you pick up for ten seconds and do not put down for the rest of the job.
The part: why anti-magnetic, and why two tips
Magnetised tweezers attract screws, make them slide to the wrong spot and interfere with work near a speaker or sensor. These are advertised as anti-magnetic: the screw stays where you put it. The straight profile is for flat work, on a board in front of you; the curved profile slips under a shield or behind a connector, where a straight tip gets stuck. Choose according to what you open most often.
What we tell you before you buy
The supplier contradicts itself on the material: the title mentions titanium alloy, the technical sheet nickel-chromium alloy steel. We do not decide on its behalf; the composition remains to be verified and we do not highlight it. No length or hardness is documented either. Finally, anti-magnetic does not mean anti-static: when working on a motherboard, keep your grounding wrist strap on. Listing verified on 19 August 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions
🔧 Do I need to solder or take anything apart to use it?
No, it is a tool: nothing to install. It is used during disassembly, to pick up ribbon cables, springs and screws.
🧲 Does "anti-magnetic" mean anti-static?
No. Anti-magnetic means the tip does not magnetise the screws. It is not an ESD certification: on a motherboard, keep wearing a grounding wrist strap.
⚖️ What exactly is it made of?
The supplier states "titanium alloy" in its title and "nickel-chromium alloy steel" in its specifications. The two contradict each other: we leave the composition to be verified rather than assert one or the other.
🎮 Which consoles can I use it on?
On anything that opens: Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Color, DS, Anbernic, Miyoo, TrimUI, Retroid handhelds, controllers, keyboards. It is not a part dedicated to one model.
⤴️ Straight tip or curved tip?
Straight for flat work on a board in front of you. Curved to reach under a shield or behind a connector. A single pair of tweezers is supplied, in the chosen profile.
🧰 What other tools do I need?
The tweezers do not replace the screwdriver suited to your console (tri-wing, Phillips, Torx depending on the case) or the opening spudger. Do not use them as a lever: the fine tip bends.
🚚 What are the delivery times?
Delivery in 10 to 18 days, ships within 3 to 5 days.
🛡️ Which guarantee applies?
2-year legal guarantee of conformity. 14-day returns. Reply within 1 business day.
