RG406H hard case: the Hall sticks are what take the knocks

On an RG406H, the Hall sticks and the D-pad stand proud of the console's face: in a bag, they are the first to take a hit. This case closes the console between a rigid shell and inner foam, held flat by an elastic strap, with a zipped mesh pocket for cables.

What it does

• Rigid shell and inner foam: the shell takes the pressure, the foam absorbs the jolts. The elastic strap holds the console flat so it doesn't knock against the sides.
• Zipped mesh in the lid: USB-C cable, earphones, microSD cards. Because it zips shut, nothing rubs against the screen on the move.
• Double zip, opens flat: the case opens into two halves, console on one side, accessories on the other.
• Built-in handle, not just a sewn-on wrist strap.
• 19.7 × 10.5 × 4.8 cm: the case fits in the compartment of a laptop bag.

What it doesn't do

• It does not fit the RG406V. Same name family, but a vertical format: Anbernic sells a separate case for each. Only the horizontal 406H is covered here.
• Treat it as splash-resistant: it handles rain on the way to the car, not immersion.
• No drop resistance is claimed, and no test standard is cited.
• The console cannot charge inside: the shell has no opening for a cable.
• The console is not included.

Compatibility

Anbernic RG406H, the horizontal model with a 4-inch screen. The vertical RG406V does not fit the same slot. Other handhelds in the Anbernic range are not covered.

Skill level

None. Console screen-side towards the mesh, elastic over it, cables in the zipped mesh, close it up. The one habit worth having: zip the mesh shut before closing the case, otherwise a cable ends up against the screen.
