Full description
Anbernic RG DS Plus: two 4.3-inch screens designed for the DS
The RG DS Plus is a clamshell handheld with two 4.3-inch IPS screens at 1024 × 768, the lower one being a touchscreen with stylus. That resolution is exactly four times that of the Nintendo DS screens (256 × 192): the image is scaled up without blur. Under the hood, a Rockchip RK3568 chip and 1 GB of RAM running Linux: this is a specialist machine, not an all-rounder.
What it does
- Nintendo DS the way it should be: two separate screens of the same size, lower touchscreen, capacitive stylus stored inside the console and built-in microphone. Exact 4× integer scaling.
- Retro up to PlayStation 1 at full speed: NES, Master System, Super Nintendo, Mega Drive, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, classic arcade and PlayStation 1.
- An adjustable clamshell: hinge adjustable from 15° to 180°, automatic sleep when closed.
- Two microSD slots: the system runs from the included 16 GB card, the second slot takes a storage card up to 2 TB.
- The rest of the kit: dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, stereo speakers, 3.5 mm headphone jack, vibration and a 4000 mAh battery (about 6 hours claimed by the manufacturer).
What it does not do
- Nintendo 3DS: out of reach. Two screens are not enough, the chip cannot keep up.
- GameCube, PlayStation 2, Wii, Wii U and Switch: out of reach.
- Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, PSP and Saturn: partial. They boot, they do not always run well. PSP is at the chip's ceiling, and its 16:9 games are shown scaled down on 4:3 screens.
- A single analogue stick. Games that need two sticks are not comfortable to play.
- 1 GB of RAM and no internal storage. The whole system lives on the included 16 GB microSD card.
- It runs Linux: no Play Store and no Android apps.
- Digital triggers: no analogue pressure.
- Shipped without games, in accordance with the law.
Compatibility
microSD cards up to 2 TB, in two slots. Wired headphones and earphones via the 3.5 mm jack. The console does not replace a Nintendo DS for cartridges: it reads no physical media.
Skill level
No soldering, no disassembly. The console boots into Anbernic's Linux system installed on the included 16 GB card. To play, simply copy your game files to the second microSD card. Screen swap, display filters and save states are set from the interface.

The DS the way it was designed
Two separate 4.3-inch screens, a lower touchscreen, a stylus stored in the console and a microphone: the RG DS Plus keeps the Nintendo DS layout instead of squeezing it onto a single screen. Each 1024 × 768 panel shows the original image scaled exactly four times, so it stays sharp, with no scaling blur.
A specialist, not an all-rounder
The RK3568 chip and its single gigabyte of RAM run 8 and 16-bit, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation 1 and DS at full speed. Nintendo 64, Dreamcast and PSP boot but remain partial; 3DS, GameCube and PlayStation 2 are out of reach. A single analogue stick: this is a console for the DS and 2D retro, not for 3D.
Two cards, two roles
No internal memory: Anbernic's Linux system runs from an included 16 GB microSD card, and a second slot takes the storage card, up to 2 TB. The configurations with a card add a 64, 128 or 256 GB card. On arrival, the console boots straight away; all that is left is to copy your own files.

Frequently Asked Questions
🎮 Does the RG DS Plus run Nintendo DS games well?
Yes, that is what it is for: two separate screens of the same size, lower touchscreen with stylus, built-in microphone. Each 1024 × 768 screen shows the DS image scaled exactly four times.
🚫 Can it emulate the Nintendo 3DS?
No. Having two screens is not enough: the RK3568 chip and 1 GB of RAM cannot run the 3DS. GameCube, PlayStation 2, Wii, Wii U and Switch are also out of reach.
🕹️ Which other systems run well?
At full speed: NES, Master System, Super Nintendo, Mega Drive, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, classic arcade and PlayStation 1. Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, PSP and Saturn are partial. With a single analogue stick, two-stick games are uncomfortable.
💾 What is the difference between the storage configurations?
The console has no internal memory: the system runs from a 16 GB microSD card, included in every configuration. The “16 GB + card” configurations add a second 64, 128 or 256 GB card for your files, to slide into the second slot. Shipped without games, in accordance with the law.
✍️ Does the stylus work like on a DS?
The lower screen is multi-touch and the stylus is stored in the console. It is a capacitive stylus, with a thicker tip than the original DS stylus: fine for menus and most games, less so for detailed drawing.
📱 Is it an Android console?
No. It runs Anbernic's Linux system, with no Play Store and no Android apps. In return, it boots straight into its game interface, with no heavy setup.
🚚 What are the delivery times?
Delivered in 10 to 18 days, dispatched within 3 to 5 days.
🛡️ Which warranty applies?
2-year legal guarantee of conformity. Returns within 14 days.
Why buy here rather than on a marketplace
It is a fair question. Here is the answer, straight.
Every listing is checked before publication: chip, screen, systems actually emulated, condition on delivery. Many models that come out never make it into the catalogue.
A question, a firmware problem, a return: you write, a human replies within 1 business day. In French.
The 2-year legal warranty of conformity is handled by us — not by a form on the other side of the world. And 14 days to change your mind, with no need to justify yourself.
We do not claim to be the cheapest. We claim that you will know exactly what you are buying before you pay.
