Description complète
XTAR L4 Pro charger: recharged AA and AAA batteries for your vintage handhelds
A Game Gear eats six AA batteries, a Game Boy four. Instead of buying disposable batteries again and again, this charger recharges one to four AA or AAA batteries at a time, Ni-MH 1.2 V as well as Li-ion 1.5 V. It recognises the battery type on its own, shows progress on an LCD screen and runs from a simple USB-C charger.
What it does
- 4 independent slots: charge 1, 2, 3 or 4 batteries, AA or AAA, and mix sizes and types.
- Automatic detection: the charger recognises Ni-MH 1.2 V and Li-ion 1.5 V batteries and applies the right charging method.
- Backlit LCD screen: battery type, charging progress, end of charge and error messages, slot by slot.
- Discharge and refresh modes: a long press on the button discharges a Ni-MH battery, or runs several cycles to revive a tired one.
- Rejects non-rechargeable batteries: an alkaline or incompatible battery triggers an error message instead of being charged.
- Protections: stops at end of charge, protection against overcharge, overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuit and reverse polarity.
What it does not do
- No wall adapter and no batteries are included: you need a USB charger of at least 5 V and 2 A; a phone charger will do.
- It does not charge alkaline batteries, 3.7 V Li-ion cells (14500, 18650) or LiFePO4: only AA and AAA Ni-MH 1.2 V and Li-ion 1.5 V.
- It is not a fast charger: 0.5 A per slot, not adjustable. Allow four to eight hours for Ni-MH batteries, depending on their capacity.
- Discharge and refresh only work with Ni-MH batteries, and a full refresh can take more than a day.
- It does not measure battery capacity: it is not a tester.
- Four slots only: the six batteries of a Game Gear take two charges.
Compatibility
Rechargeable AA and AAA batteries, Ni-MH 1.2 V or Li-ion 1.5 V. For consoles: Game Gear (6 AA batteries), Game Boy (4 AA), Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance (2 AA), Game Boy Pocket (2 AAA), and any device running on AA or AAA batteries. See our Game Gear accessories and parts and our Game Boy accessories.
Getting started
Plug the USB-C cable into a 5 V 2 A USB charger, then insert the batteries the right way round: the charger recognises their type and starts charging. A long press on the button switches to discharge mode, then to refresh mode. No settings, no software.

The habit: stop buying batteries
A Game Gear uses six AA batteries, a Game Boy four. With rechargeable batteries, the same set will serve game after game. The charger runs from a simple USB charger: your phone charger is enough.
The machine: four slots that manage themselves
Each slot recognises its battery type, Ni-MH 1.2 V or Li-ion 1.5 V, and charges it at 0.5 A. The LCD screen shows progress and flags an alkaline battery slipped in by mistake. For tired Ni-MH batteries, a refresh mode runs several discharge and charge cycles.
Our help: the right batteries for the right console
For a vintage console, good-capacity Ni-MH or Li-ion 1.5 V batteries do the job. A question about your batteries or your console? Write to us at contact@fun-esports.com and we will reply by e-mail.

Frequently Asked Questions
🔋 Which batteries can it charge?
Rechargeable AA and AAA batteries, Ni-MH 1.2 V or Li-ion 1.5 V. You can mix sizes and types across the four slots.
🚫 Can it recharge alkaline batteries?
No. An alkaline or incompatible battery is detected and the charger shows an error message instead of charging it.
🔌 Which wall adapter should I use?
A USB charger of at least 5 V and 2 A, such as a phone charger. A recent USB-C charger also works: the L4 Pro always runs at 5 V. The adapter is not included.
⏱️ How long does a charge take?
The charger delivers 0.5 A per slot. Allow four to eight hours for Ni-MH batteries, depending on their capacity.
♻️ What is refresh mode for?
It runs several discharge and charge cycles to restore capacity to a tired Ni-MH battery. It only works with Ni-MH and can take more than a day.
🎮 How many batteries does my console need?
Game Gear: 6 AA batteries, so two charges. Game Boy: 4 AA. Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance: 2 AA. Game Boy Pocket: 2 AAA.
🚚 What are the delivery times?
Delivery in 10 to 18 days, dispatched within 3 to 5 days.
🛡️ What guarantee applies?
2-year legal guarantee of conformity. 14-day returns.

It is a fair question. Here is the answer, straight.
Every listing is checked before publication: real compatibility, material, dimensions, box contents. Many models never make it into the catalogue.

The 2-year legal warranty of conformity is handled by us — not by a form on the other side of the world. And 14 days to change your mind, with no need to justify yourself.
We do not claim to be the cheapest. We claim that you will know exactly what you are buying before you pay.
