Retroid Pocket 6 TPU case: bag marks end up on the case, not on the console
A handheld console rarely gets damaged all at once: it gets scratched at the bottom of a bag, slides off an armrest, picks up marks on the back and corners. This soft TPU case slips onto the Retroid Pocket 6 and takes that wear in its place. It is clear, so the console's original finish stays visible, and it can be replaced for a few euros once it is marked.
What it does
- Soft TPU: a semi-rigid material that absorbs rubbing and minor handling knocks, where a thin hard case merely covers.
- Grippier hold: the surface grips better than the bare plastic of the chassis, so the console slips less during a long session.
- Fitted and removed without tools: the case slips on and off in a few seconds, with no disassembly, no screws and no adhesive.
What it doesn't do
- It is not waterproof, despite what the manufacturer's listing claims: an open case leaves the ports, grilles and screen exposed, and it offers no protection against liquids.
- It does not protect the screen: no film or tempered glass is included, and the display remains uncovered.
- It does not prevent damage from a fall onto a corner or onto the screen. It limits scratches and minor knocks, nothing more.
- It adds thickness: a pouch cut to the millimetre for the bare console may no longer close.
- Clear TPU dulls and yellows over time and with UV exposure. It is a wear part, not a lifetime accessory.
Compatibility
Moulded for the Retroid Pocket 6 only: the cut-outs follow the ports and controls of this chassis. It is not suitable for the Retroid Pocket 5, Pocket 4 / 4 Pro, Pocket Flip 2, Pocket Mini or Pocket Classic, whose form factors and connector positions differ. No other brand of handheld console is covered.

What really damages a handheld
A handheld console rarely deteriorates all at once. It picks up micro-scratches at the bottom of a bag, against a bunch of keys or a stray microSD card, then marks on the corners from being put down and picked up again. After a few months, the back has gone matte and the screen shows marks. A soft cover takes that rubbing instead of the chassis.
Why clear TPU
TPU is a compromise between soft silicone and a hard case: flexible enough to slip on by hand and cushion a handling knock, firm enough not to lose its shape in a pocket. Being clear, it shows off the console's original finish instead of hiding it. And it changes how the console feels in the hand: the surface grips where bare plastic slips.
The limits, stated before you buy
The manufacturer's listing describes the case as "waterproof": that is false, and we will not repeat it. An open case offers no protection against liquids, and it will not save a console that falls onto a corner or onto the screen. No film or tempered glass is included. No. It is moulded for the Retroid Pocket 6. The other Retroid models have a different form factor and different connector positions: the case will not sit correctly.
