Description complète
Retro-Bit BIG6: the large Mega Drive controller, with six buttons and no cable
The BIG6 combines the wide shape of the first Mega Drive controller with the six-button layout of the arcade controller. Officially SEGA licensed, it adds Home, Select and shoulder buttons, and connects over 2.4 GHz with two receivers included: one for the original Mega Drive, one USB one for PC, Mac, Switch or Mega Drive Mini. Black.
What it does
- Two receivers included: one receiver for the controller port of the Mega Drive or the Genesis, one USB receiver for the other devices.
- Six buttons, original shape: the feel of the large Mega Drive controller, with the six-button layout of fighting games.
- Home, Select and shoulder buttons: useful on PC, Switch or Mega Drive Mini.
- Stated range of 10 metres: over the 2.4 GHz link, between the controller and its receiver.
- 500 mAh battery: rechargeable, steady indicator once charging is complete.
What it doesn't do
- No Bluetooth: the controller only works with one of the two receivers included.
- No analogue stick, and no rumble is stated: this is a D-pad controller.
- On Switch and on Mega Drive Mini, the controller's indicator must be red (Start + B): in blue, it does not respond.
- This is not a Saturn controller: it does not plug into a Saturn.
- Retro-Bit does not publish a battery life: we do not state one.
- A single colour here: black.
Compatibility
Console receiver: original Mega Drive and Genesis. USB receiver: Windows PC (D-Input and X-Input), Mac, Mega Drive Mini (red indicator), Nintendo Switch (red indicator, on a USB port of the dock for example) and other USB devices. Not covered: Saturn.
Getting started
Plug in the receiver you want, press Start, then hold the receiver's Sync button until the indicators stay steady. Start + B switches between the two modes: red for Switch and Mega Drive Mini, blue or red as you prefer on PC. If there is a problem, Start + R for 4 seconds resets the controller.

Two Mega Drive controllers in one
The Mega Drive had two controllers: the large three-button controller of the early days, and the more compact six-button controller that arrived for fighting games. The BIG6 takes the shape of the first and the buttons of the second. It is officially SEGA licensed and offered here in black.
Wireless, on the original console
The console receiver plugs into the controller port of the Mega Drive or the Genesis: you play your cartridges from the sofa, up to 10 metres away according to the manufacturer. This is not Bluetooth: every device goes through one of the two receivers included, and the controller has no stick and no rumble stated.
A USB receiver for everything else
The second receiver opens it up to PC, Mac, the Mega Drive Mini and the Switch. On the last two, the red indicator is required, obtained with Start + B. Home, Select and the shoulder buttons then come into their own. Retro-Bit does not publish a battery life for the 500 mAh battery.

Frequently Asked Questions
🔌 How does it connect?
Over 2.4 GHz, only through one of the two receivers included: the console receiver on the Mega Drive's controller port, or the USB receiver on PC, Mac, Switch or Mega Drive Mini. It has no Bluetooth.
🎮 Does it work on my original Mega Drive?
Yes, with the console receiver included, which plugs into the controller port of the Mega Drive or the Genesis.
🕹️ Does it work on Mega Drive Mini and on Switch?
Yes, with the USB receiver. The controller's indicator must be red: if it is blue, hold Start + B until the colour changes, otherwise the controller does not respond.
🥊 What is the difference with a classic six-button Mega Drive controller?
The BIG6 keeps the wide shape of the first Mega Drive controller, whose feel Retro-Bit says it preserves, with the six-button layout of the arcade controller, and adds Home, Select and shoulder buttons.
🔋 How long does the battery last?
Retro-Bit states a rechargeable 500 mAh battery, but does not publish a battery life: we therefore do not state one.
🔄 How do I reset it?
By holding Start + R for 4 seconds, or by pressing into the small hole on the back of the controller with an unfolded paper clip.
🚚 What are the delivery times?
Delivery in 10 to 18 days, ships within 3 to 5 days.
🛡️ What guarantee applies?
2-year legal guarantee of conformity. 14-day returns.
Why buy here rather than on a marketplace
It is a fair question. Here is the answer, straight.
Every listing is checked before publication: platforms actually supported, stick technology, connectivity, what the controller does not do. Many models never make it into the catalogue.
A question, a pairing problem, a return: you write, a human replies within 1 business day. In French.
The 2-year legal warranty of conformity is handled by us — not by a form on the other side of the world. And 14 days to change your mind, with no need to justify yourself.
We do not claim to be the cheapest. We claim that you will know exactly what you are buying before you pay.
