Transparent PSone shell: a new housing, with the electronics on display
On a twenty-five-year-old PSone, the plastic yellows, gets scratched and the clips break. This replacement shell in translucent ABS replaces the top and bottom of the housing, for a clean console or to show off the motherboard. It is aimed at PSone owners ready to take it completely apart.
What it does
- Complete housing: top and bottom of the console, shaped like the PSone.
- Five colours: grey, transparent purple, transparent black, transparent and transparent green.
- No soldering: you transfer the original parts from one housing to the other, screwdriver in hand.
What it doesn't do
- It contains no internal parts: motherboard, drive, power supply and ribbon cables must be taken from your console.
- It does not repair a drive that no longer reads, nor a tired power supply.
- It is not suitable for the original full-size PlayStation (SCPH-1000 to SCPH-9002), whose housing is different.
- Reuse your console's screws: only the shell is guaranteed in the package.
- On a transparent shell, dust and marks inside are visible: clean the board before reassembly.
Compatibility
PSone, the compact model (SCPH-100, SCPH-101, SCPH-102, SCPH-103). Not compatible with the original full-size PlayStation (SCPH-1000 to SCPH-9002) or with the PS2.
Skill level required
No soldering, no cutting. The console must be completely disassembled: open the housing, remove the motherboard, drive, power supply and buttons, then reassemble everything in the new shell. Have a suitable Phillips screwdriver and something to keep the screws in. Intermediate level: the job is simple, method is what counts.

The job: changing the housing
You open the PSone, remove the motherboard, the drive and the power supply, then reassemble everything in the new shell. No soldering: a screwdriver, method and a little patience. The yellowed console comes out clean, or transparent if you want to see the electronics.
The part: translucent ABS
The shell follows the shape of the compact PSone, top and bottom. It comes in grey, transparent purple, transparent black, transparent and transparent green. It only replaces the housing: everything inside comes from your console.
