Sylas, his chains, and a material you can feel
Sylas spent years in chains for a power he never chose, then broke out by stealing the spells of the people who had locked him up. He is a head-on champion, played by those who would rather walk into the fight than around it. His palette is short and effective: bright petricite blue, purple, forge black, and the chains running through all of it. On a keyboard, a contrast like that calls for a surface that does not go glossy: PBT stays dry under the finger and does not take the sticky shine of the most heavily typed keys, so the blue keeps its density month after month.
What you feel before you see it: PBT and dye-sublimation
Hold an original ABS key between two fingers, then one from the set: the difference shows up before the colours do. PBT is harder and drier, and does not turn slippery where you type most. Now run a fingernail over the legend: nothing catches, because the design is dye-sublimated (DYE-SUB) and the dye penetrates the material instead of sitting on top — no layer to wear through or chip off. The rest is mechanical: MX cross-stem (Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh, Outemu), OEM profile with one height per row, fitted by hand with the keycap puller included, no glue, reversible.
What no material will make up for
Good PBT does not turn twelve keys into a keyboard: the mechanical board has to be there already, and the rows left uncovered keep their original caps. The MX cross-stem is a condition, not an option — membrane, low-profile and proprietary stems are out. And since that same PBT is opaque, Sylas's blue will not light up: the switch light passes around the key and forms a halo without shining through the design. And however much the character comes from League of Legends, this set is an illustration inspired by it, not a licensed product.

What kind of keyboard does this set need?
A mechanical keyboard with an MX cross-stem: Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh, Outemu. To be sure, lift one key off and look for the cross on top of the switch. Membrane keyboards, low-profile ones and in-house stems do not offer that anchor point.
What's in the box?
12 PBT keycaps and a keycap puller. The puller saves you from tugging caps off by hand and straining the switches; refitting is then done with no glue or soldering, and you can put your original keys back whenever you like.
Does the design wear where you type the most?
No, because there is nothing on the surface to wear: dye-sublimation (DYE-SUB) spreads the dye inside the plastic. As for PBT itself, its hardness is exactly what stops it turning shiny and sticky in the busiest spots.
Can you really feel the difference with my current keys?
If your keyboard came with ABS caps, yes: PBT answers drier and firmer under the fingertip. The legend, on the other hand, cannot be felt at all — no ridge under the fingernail, since the design is in the material rather than on it.
What does the artwork represent?
It picks up the visual codes of Sylas, the Unshackled: the blue of petricite magic, forge black and the chain motif that follows the character. The treatment is graphic and stylised, designed to stay readable at the size of a key.
Is this an official League of Legends item?
No. It is an illustration inspired by that universe, sold with no licence and no connection to the game's publisher. The caps remain standard keyboard parts, independent of any game content.
