Kayn, the Shadow — and two ways to lay out the set
Kayn is a jungler who picks his side mid-game: either he masters the scythe inside him and becomes the Shadow Assassin, blue and white, impossible to pin down, or Rhaast takes over, blood red, heavy, almost unkillable. The set keeps that duality in its palette, between dark red and cold highlights on a black ground. The same logic applies to fitting: twelve keys work just as well spread over the WASD movement cluster, for players who watch their left hand, as in a spell block in the middle of the keyboard, for those who want to see the design while they play.
Two layouts, one single rule: the row
Spreading twelve keys over two different areas means respecting one thing: the profile is OEM, each row has its own height and angle, and a key cut for the top row will look wrong if you move it down. Then check the stem — pull a cap off, and a cross means an MX cross-stem (Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh, Outemu). On the finish, dye-sublimation (DYE-SUB) drives the dye into the plastic, which holds the contrast of red on black with no layer to chip, and PBT does not take the shine of the most heavily used keys. Fitted by hand, keycap puller included, reversible.
Neither layout changes these limits
Whichever layout you choose, twelve keys do not make a keyboard: you need a mechanical one already, and the rows left aside keep their original caps. The MX fitting rules out membrane keyboards, low-profile ones and proprietary stems. The red will not glow from within: PBT is opaque, the switch light comes out around the key as a halo without shining through the design. And while Kayn comes from League of Legends, this set is only an illustration inspired by it, not a licensed product.

Do I have the right switch stem?
Take a cap off and look: a cross in the centre means an MX cross-stem, the standard on Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh and Outemu, and the set clips on with no extra tool. A flat stem, a membrane dome or a low-profile mechanism will not do.
How many keys, and what do I fit them with?
12 keycaps, supplied with a keycap puller. That is enough for a movement cluster plus a few spells, not for a whole keyboard: the remaining rows keep their original caps, whatever the board's format.
Will the red dull with hours of play?
The design is dye-sublimated (DYE-SUB), meaning diffused into the material rather than laid on top: there is no lacquer and no printed layer to wear away. PBT also takes the hours without picking up the sticky shine you see appear on original ABS keys.
What are the two possible layouts?
The first concentrates the keys on the WASD movement cluster and its neighbours: useful if you mostly watch your left hand. The second places them as a spell block in the middle of the keyboard, where the design stays visible during a game. Nothing stops you trying both, since fitting is reversible.
Does the set work on a keyboard that is already red?
Yes, as long as you accept that the set's red is darker than a classic gaming case red: the two will not merge, they will answer each other. On a black keyboard, by contrast, Kayn's palette fits in without argument.
Has Riot Games approved this set?
No. This is an illustration inspired by the League of Legends universe, sold with no licence and no connection to the game's publisher. What you get is a set of twelve caps for a mechanical keyboard, nothing else.
