Katarina keycaps: exactly what the kit contains
Before ordering keycaps, one question always comes up: what's in the box, and will you need to buy anything else afterward? Here is the complete inventory of this kit in the colors of the Sinister Blade, with nothing left unclear.
The inventory, piece by piece
- 12 keycaps: all PBT, all DYE-SUB printed, all OEM profile.
- 1 keycap puller: the accessory that removes the original keycaps without straining the switches or marking the plastic.
That's it, and it's enough: no other tool is needed for installation.
What is not included
Let's be clear. The kit contains no keyboard, no switches and no stabilizers. Nor is it a full keycap set for an entire keyboard: twelve keys dress one area, not every row. Your mechanical keyboard must therefore already exist and work; this kit only changes its look.
Why twelve and not a hundred and four
A full set means buying dozens of keycaps, half of which will never be touched. The twelve-key format focuses on the active area of the keyboard, the one that takes the keystrokes and that you actually look at. It also lets you switch themes without starting from scratch every time.
Check compatibility in ten seconds
Remove a keycap from your keyboard and look at the switch stem. If you see a small cross, the kit fits: that is the MX cross stem standard, shared by Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh and Outemu. The OEM profile, for its part, matches the most common shape of off-the-shelf keyboards.

The design picks up Katarina's identity: dominant blood red, matte black, silver highlights recalling the steel of her daggers, and the silhouette of the Noxian assassin. A warm, aggressive set that reads very clearly on a dark frame.

Katarina, the blade of Noxus on twelve keycaps
Katarina is played forward. Her resets chain fights into one uninterrupted sequence of movement, and that tempo is exactly what this set puts on the keyboard: a red-and-steel palette taken from Noxus, sitting on the keys you hit most. Those dark tones fall into place on their own on a black keyboard, where the twelve keycaps form an island of colour over the movement and ability zone without repainting the whole desk. On a white keyboard the contrast turns sharp and the set reads as a deliberate accent. This is a mid laner's pick, for players who like champions that never wait – not for anyone looking to stay discreet.
Exactly what the twelve-keycap kit covers
Start with the count: 12 keycaps and one puller, nothing else. The rest of the keyboard keeps its original caps, and the layout size (60%, TKL, full-size) is irrelevant since you pick the positions yourself: WASD, ability keys or the function row. Mounting is on MX cross-stems. Pull one cap off: if the switch stem shows a cross, the set clips straight onto it, which covers Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh and Outemu. The profile is OEM, the one fitted as standard on most off-the-shelf mechanical keyboards: each row has its own height, so keep every cap on the row it was shaped for. Fitting is done by hand, with no glue and no soldering, and stays reversible.
What the Katarina set does not do
An illustration this heavy on red can suggest a full set: it is not one. Twelve keycaps dress one zone, not entire rows, and the mechanical keyboard has to exist already – the set does not replace it. It fits neither a membrane keyboard, nor low-profile keys, nor a proprietary stem. It is not backlit: PBT is opaque, the light passes around the cap and not through the legend, so do not expect a motif that glows at night. Finally, this is an illustration inspired by the League of Legends universe, not a licensed product.

- Clavier AZERTY ISO : la touche 2U fournie correspond au Retour arrière, pas à la touche Entrée, qui est en L sur un clavier français
- Ne convient pas aux claviers à membrane, aux claviers à touches basses (low profile) ni aux switches à tige propriétaire
- Les légendes ne sont pas rétroéclairées : le PBT est opaque, la lumière du switch passe autour de la touche
- Le profil OEM ne s'aligne pas avec un clavier monté dans un autre profil (Cherry, SA, XDA, DSA) : une marche reste visible

Will this set fit my keyboard?
It mounts on mechanical keyboards with an MX cross-stem: Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh, Outemu. Pull off one cap and look at the switch stem: if it forms a cross, the set clips onto it. On a membrane keyboard, on low-profile keys or on a proprietary stem, the keycaps will not attach.
How many keycaps are in the set?
12 keycaps and a puller, to spread wherever you like: WASD, ability keys or the function row. This is not a full set: the rest of the keyboard keeps its original caps, and the layout size (60%, TKL, full-size) makes no difference.
Will the red fade from being hit so often?
Printing is dye-sublimated (DYE-SUB): the dye is diffused into the plastic rather than laid on top of it. There is therefore no layer to chip or wear away. PBT also resists the shine that appears on the most heavily used ABS keys.
Does Katarina's red and steel suit my keyboard?
On a black case the twelve keycaps form an island of colour and the whole thing stays understated; on a white case the contrast is sharp and the set reads as a deliberate accent. Under backlighting PBT is opaque: the light draws a halo around the cap without passing through the motif, and a fixed red light serves this set better than a colour cycle.
What does the illustration show, and what pairs with it?
A free graphic reading of Katarina, the Noxian assassin: blades, red and steel. It is an inspired design, not a reproduction of any in-game artwork. If you want to dress a second area of the keyboard, another Noxus character continues the same colour family.
Is this an official League of Legends product?
No. This is an illustration inspired by the League of Legends universe, not a licensed product. The caps remain ordinary keyboard keycaps, independent of the game.
