Hispeedido internal HDMI kit for GameCube: an HDMI output installed inside the console
On a modern TV, the original analogue output of the GameCube gives a soft image, and the digital cables of the time have become impossible to find. This internal HDMI kit by Hispeedido picks up the image in digital form inside the console and outputs it via HDMI. It is a workshop mod, permanently installed.
What it does
- Digital signal: the image is taken before its analogue conversion, without the loss of an external converter.
- Built-in HDMI output: the console connects to a modern TV with a simple HDMI cable.
- Two versions: board supplied with one or two cables, depending on the chosen variant.
What it doesn't do
- It cannot be installed without opening the console: it is an internal kit, requiring complete disassembly and fine soldering.
- It does not add detail to games: the GameCube renders its images at 480p at best, and the kit carries this signal cleanly without turning it into native high definition.
- It is only suitable for the GameCube: not the Wii or any other console.
- It does not repair a faulty console: a defective drive, power supply or board must be dealt with separately.
Compatibility
GameCube. There are two main console revisions, DOL-001 and DOL-101, the second without a digital video port at the back: note the reference printed under your console and write to our customer service before ordering if you want confirmation for your model. The Wii is not covered.
Skill level required
Advanced. Complete disassembly of the GameCube (4.5 mm Gamebit screwdriver for the screws underneath), connecting the kit to the motherboard by fine soldering, routing the cables and fixing the HDMI socket. Depending on the location chosen for the socket, cutting the shell may be necessary. Have a fine-tip soldering iron, flux and desoldering braid ready. If you have never soldered on a motherboard, have the installation done by a workshop.
