Power board for GameCube: replacing the failing part

On a GameCube that no longer switches on, the internal power board is a regular suspect: it receives the current from the power supply and distributes it to the console. This replacement board fits in place of the original one on the DOL-001 and DOL-101, in a USB-C version or a DC version.

What it does

• Replaces the original board: a new part in place of a tired or damaged board.
• USB-C version: the console is powered through a USB-C connector instead of the original socket.
• DC version: an alternative to keep power via a DC plug.

What it doesn't do

• No power supply or charger is supplied: the board is sold on its own, in the chosen version.
• For the USB-C version, not all chargers are suitable: the GameCube needs a higher voltage than the 5 V of a basic phone charger. Contact us before buying if you have any doubt about your charger.
• It does not repair a fault in the motherboard, the disc drive or the graphics chip.
• It does not fit the Wii or other consoles.

Compatibility

GameCube DOL-001 (first series, with or without Digital AV port) and DOL-101 (later series). Not compatible with the Wii, nor with the Panasonic Q model, whose internal architecture is different.

Skill level required

Intermediate level. You need to open the GameCube with a 4.5 mm Gamebit security screwdriver, remove the original power board located at the back of the console and install the new one in its place. Always unplug the console and let it rest before opening it. Opening the console ends any remaining manufacturer warranty.
