iBlueControlMod internal Bluetooth adapter: the GameCube goes wireless
Original wireless controllers for the GameCube are rare, and external adapters clutter the ports. This Hispeedido board is installed inside the console and lets it recognise modern Bluetooth controllers, up to four at a time, without soldering or cutting. Wired GameCube controllers keep working.
What it does
- Wireless controllers recognised: PS3, PS4 and PS5 controllers, Xbox One S and Xbox Series, Wii U Pro, Switch Pro and Joy-Con, among others.
- Up to four players: four Bluetooth controllers at once, or a mix of wireless and wired controllers across the four ports.
- Internal installation: no soldering, no shell cutting, no cable sticking out.
- Settings and updates: button mapping is configured and the firmware is updated from a Bluetooth-equipped computer.
What it doesn't do
- This is not a BlueRetro. The BlueRetro app does not work with this board, and installing the BlueRetro firmware on it damages it.
- Updates and settings are done from a computer, not from a phone.
- It does not make a wired controller wireless: it is the console that receives Bluetooth.
- It does not apply to the Wii, even though it accepts GameCube controllers.
Compatibility
GameCube console. Bluetooth controllers recognised: PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox One S, Xbox Series X|S, Wii U Pro, Switch Pro, Joy-Con and other common wireless controllers. Cannot be installed in a Wii or any other console.
Skill level required
Intermediate level, no soldering or cutting. You need to open the GameCube with a 4.5 mm security screwdriver ("gamebit" bit), access the controller port area, install the board and close it up. A computer with Bluetooth is then used for settings and updates.

The job: cutting the cord without picking up the iron
You open the GameCube with the security screwdriver, install the board near the controller ports and close it up. On the next start-up, a PS4, Xbox or Switch Pro controller pairs via Bluetooth and plays the games from the sofa. The original wired controllers can still be plugged into the same ports.
The part: Hispeedido's iBlueControlMod
Hispeedido, a recognised maker of modding kits for retro consoles, designs this board with its own firmware. It handles up to four wireless controllers and is configured from a Bluetooth computer. It is not a BlueRetro: never install that firmware on it, it would damage the board.
