eXtremeRate shell for Switch Lite: replacing the console's entire housing

A Switch Lite that is scratched, cracked or whose factory colour you are simply tired of can be completely rehoused. This replacement shell by eXtremeRate replaces the original housing of the Switch Lite and comes with a screen protector and matching ABXY buttons. Fifteen colours, including translucent, glitter and glow-in-the-dark finishes.

What it does

• Replaces the original housing: the console's motherboard, screen and internal components are transferred into the new shell.
• Screen protector and ABXY buttons supplied: the front is complete as soon as you reassemble.
• Fifteen colours: translucent (purple, glacier blue, emerald green, red, blue, lime green, black, orange, transparent), gradients, glitter and glow-in-the-dark green.

What it doesn't do

• It only fits the Switch Lite: not the standard Switch, the Switch OLED, the Switch 2 or the Joy-Con.
• The console and its internal parts are not supplied: you need to transfer those of your Switch Lite.
• It does not repair a faulty component (drifting joystick, screen, battery): it replaces the casing, not the electronics.
• Disassembling a console still covered by the manufacturer's warranty may compromise that warranty.

Compatibility

Switch Lite only. The first-generation Switch, the Switch OLED, the Switch 2 and the Joy-Con have different housings and are not covered.

Skill level required

Intermediate to advanced. No soldering, but a complete disassembly: opening the console, disconnecting the ribbon cables, removing the adhesive-mounted battery, transferring the motherboard, screen, joysticks and speakers. Have a set of precision screwdrivers ready (Phillips and tri-point), a plastic spudger, and a good hour of quiet work.
