SPARK back buttons: four extra controls under your fingers, on PS5 controller
On a standard PS5 controller, jumping or reloading often means letting go of the right stick. The eXtremeRate SPARK kit adds four remappable back buttons to the back of the controller, under the fingers holding it. It is intended for BDM-030, BDM-040, BDM-050 and BDM-060 controllers.
What it does
- Four back buttons: accessible without letting go of the sticks.
- Remappable: each back button takes over the function of an existing button on the controller.
- Seven colours: rubberised black, grey, white, translucent.
What it doesn't do
- It is not suitable for BDM-010 and BDM-020 controllers, nor for the DualSense Edge.
- It does not add new functions: the back buttons take over controls already present on the controller.
- The controller is not included: the kit is installed on yours.
- Installation requires a full disassembly of the controller.
Compatibility
Standard PS5 controllers, revisions BDM-030, BDM-040, BDM-050 and BDM-060. Not covered: BDM-010, BDM-020, DualSense Edge and controllers for other consoles. If you do not know your controller's revision, write to us before ordering.
Skill level required
Full disassembly of the controller: opening the shell, removing the battery and ribbon cables. Have a precision Phillips screwdriver, plastic spudgers and fine-nose pliers ready. Advanced level: read the installation procedure for your revision before ordering.

The job: keeping your thumbs on the sticks
On a standard controller, every jump or reload makes you let go of the right stick for a split second. With four back buttons, these actions move under the fingers holding the controller. You open the controller, install the kit, assign a function to each button, and your thumbs no longer leave the sticks.
The part: one eXtremeRate kit per revision
eXtremeRate designs its kits revision by revision, because the inside of a PS5 controller changes from one series to the next. The SPARK covers BDM-030, 040, 050 and 060 and comes in seven colours, from rubberised black to translucent finishes.
