The SN850X is available with and without a heatsink. The version with a heatsink is suitable for motherboards without an M.2 heatsink, compact cases, sustained workloads, and the PS5 (the only compatible version). It reduces thermal throttling to maintain speed. The version without a heatsink is ideal if your motherboard already has an efficient M.2 heatsink or if you're on a budget. Check the maximum thickness and, if necessary, update your BIOS .
