Mordekaiser, the Iron Revenant
Mordekaiser is a mass: a revenant sealed inside black iron armour, who tears his opponent off the battlefield to finish the duel in the realm of the dead. The set follows that idea all the way — metallic black, weathered iron grey, and for the only warmth the embers filtering between the plates. It is the darkest palette you can ask of a keycap set, and that is also the point: laid on a black keyboard it does not stand out as a patch, it extends the case. The toplaner who already has a black desk, a black mat and a black case has nothing to change around it.
Dye sublimation: why a light legend holds on a dark base
On a dark cap everything rests on the light artwork, and it is the printing process that decides. Here dye sublimation (DYE-SUB) diffuses the dye into the plastic instead of laying it on top: there is no surface layer to chip or wear away, and the fingernail cannot feel the slightest ridge on the legend. That is precisely what printed-on artwork lacks, since it eventually fades from the centre of the most heavily typed keys — where contrast matters most. The base is PBT, harder and drier than the original ABS and immune to shine. OEM profile, every key on its row, clipping onto MX cross-stems (Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh, Outemu) with the puller supplied.
What a dark set does not solve
Dark does not mean luminous: these keys do not light up. PBT is opaque, the light from the switch travels around the cap and draws a halo at its base, it does not pass through the legend — so a set this dark asks for a minimum of light on the desk when you type at night. It is not a keyboard: you need one already, mechanical, with MX cross-stems, not membrane, not low profile, not a proprietary stem. It is not a full set either: twelve keys cover one area, not entire rows. And it is an illustration inspired by the League of Legends universe, not a licensed product.

Those whose switches carry an MX cross-stem: Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh, Outemu. The test is instant: pull off a key and see whether the stem forms a cross. A keyboard with a membrane, with low profile keys or fitted with a proprietary stem will not do.
Is the set complete or partial?
Partial, and deliberately so: 12 keycaps supplied with a keycap puller. They dress the area of your choice while the rest of the keyboard keeps its original caps, on a 60 %, a TKL or a full-size board alike.
How do you clean keys this dark?
A dry or barely damp cloth is enough, since the surface is PBT, a hard plastic that does not take on the greasy sheen of ABS and on which fingerprints show far less than on a light cap. The artwork is unaffected, being printed by dye sublimation (DYE-SUB) within the thickness of the plastic.
Do the legends stay readable on a set this dark?
On a black palette this is the thing to check before anything else: readability rests on the contrast between the light artwork and the iron background, not on lighting. In daylight or under a desk lamp the reading is clear; in an unlit room with no backlighting, a dark set always reads less well than a light one, whichever it may be.
What lighting shows this set off best?
A static light rather than a multicolour cycle: as the switch light passes around the cap, it creates a rim at the base of the keys that underlines the black instead of blurring it. Warm or green tones carry on the ember idea, while a cold white hardens the whole thing.
